Not Just Any Olympic Medal, Oregon's Devon Allen is Going for Gold

As Devon Allen prepares for the world stage, his goal is clear: “I’m going for the gold.”

Allen, who just finished his sophomore season at Oregon, will compete in the 110-meter hurdles for the U.S. track team at the Olympic Games, and while many athletes talk about just winning a medal, he is focused on winning it all.

“People always talk about medaling, you know, go and medal. But I always just think about winning,” Allen said. “Obviously, I want to win the gold medal. Any medal would be cool, but I’m going for the gold, for sure.”

It has been a long road to the Olympics for Allen, who also is a wide receiver on the Oregon football team.
