English Gardner punched her ticket to the 2016 Olympic games after winning the 100-meter final at the U. S. Olympic Track and Field Trials at Hayward Field in a time of 10.74 seconds.

The former University of Oregon Ducks sprinter won five NCAA championships during her time as a Duck and was the only collegiate athlete to make the 100-meter final at the 2012 Olympic trials, where she placed seventh.

Gardner turned professional after her junior season in Eugene and signed a contract with Nike in 2013. She was a silver medalist at the 2013 and 2015 World Outdoor championships in the 4X100-meter relay.
